GALLO-ROMAN PILE LA TURRAQUE

The Gallo-Roman Pile of Turraque: (MH since 1875)
It is erected near the village, on the right bank of the Baïse, at a place called Lacouture, the pile of Biran, is one of the best preserved, the most imposing and certainly the most famous. With more than 11 m in height, it dates from the XNUMXrd century, it would be the rich burial place of a large villa owner.The semi-circular niche facing east is large, it was to receive the cinerary urn as well as the statue of the deceased.
