The former Cordeliers convent, currently a municipal hall, was founded in 1259 by the Franciscans outside the walls of the medieval town. It has a remarkable internal staircase. The old cloister, part of which is in the private domain, is visible from Place Jean David. In summer, a restaurant terrace is set up there. The old Cordeliers church, the largest in the city until the Revolution after the cathedral, became a bank, then a nightclub and today a restaurant.
