Created in 1897
In the 19th century, the forecourt of the Cathedral was the first playground for lovers of the oval ball! Called FVCA (Football Vélo Club Auscitain), the club grew rapidly and entered the French championship before the great war.
He became FCA (Football Club Auscitain) in 1921. He participated in many finals, is sacred champion of France of 2nd division three times, and attended the Top 14 in the early 2000s before joining the Pro D2 which he won in 2003/2004 and 2006/2007. The FCA had not left the elite of French rugby since 1947. Today is the Federal 1 which awaits the Auscitain club, division of the amateur elite and antechamber of the two professional divisions Top 14 and Pro D2.

The big names of the FCAG
The town of Auch is closely linked to Jacques Fouroux, “The Little Corporal” who saw him be born. Trained at the FCA, whose jersey he wore from 1976 to 1981, he had a remarkable career, notably as captain of the France team before retraining on his retirement as a coach (France team, Grenoble and Aquila in Italy). The Moulias stadium, where his ashes were spread upon his death, was renamed Jacques Fouroux stadium in his honour.
Let us mention a few emblematic players of Football Club Auscitain such as Bérot, Barcella or Mignardi, before mentioning the coach Henry broncan “The gers sorcerer” who takes the club to the victory of the European Shield and wins 2 titles of champion of France in Pro D2.
The club in 2016
The club had no less than 450 licensees (women's teams, hopes, Reichels, crabos, cadets, as well as a rugby school). The stadium also houses a qualified training center which provides a dual qualification: high-level sports training to prepare the player for professional rugby accompanied by a school, university or professional qualification.
2017: the FCAG is no more, the RCA is born!
The filing for bankruptcy of the professional club in 2017, did not strike rugby from the list of sports practiced in the Prefecture of Gers… “Normal”, you will say, when we have read the few lines above: Auch est a rugby town like the towns and villages of the Gers and, more broadly, those of southwestern France.
In July 2017, the creation of a new Club was already being organized, elders were contacted to support young people in the new challenges, challenges and issues of rugby in Auch: the July 20, 2017 RCA (Rugby Club Auch) was born!
Several teams have continued: the entire rugby school has retained its structure, with:
- the “Elves” from 5 years to “Under 14”
- youth teams: cadets and juniors for boys, and cadets for girls
- senior teams with a team 1 engaged at Honor level, its Reserve team
- A Women's XV team engaged in Federal 2
The RCA has chosen to maintain a training center in order to support the progress of young people who wish to work more on their individual technique a few more hours per week. The RCA is 430 licensees, 50 volunteers, 50 managers and supervisors, 400 subscribed supporters and 130 partners. All in a spirit of camaraderie and love of rugby!
End of RCA's 1st season: mark your calendars
If for the "pennant" team of RCA, the course in the final phase Armagnac Bigorre ended on April 15 against the Bigourdans neighbors of Argelès-Gazost, team group B which has delighted the public just as much this season, brandished the shield of the Honor championship of the Armagnac-Bigorre committee, and finished his season in the 1/4 French Championship.
The ticket for the rise in Federal 3 of the pennant team is acquired! THEhe team finished its season in the Round of 1 of the French Championship.
The Sixteenth Man is expected in numbers AND in red and white!
2020 - what about RCA?
After one beautiful RCA season ending the season in the top 2 of the 6th group of federal 2 tied with Lombez Samatan at 62 point, the team sees itself, like the others, forced to finish its season faster than expected ... Just like its Reserve team, also finishing in the top 2 of federal B with 51 point, behind the US L'isle-Jourdain.
The FFR, however, did not consider the 2019 - 2020 season canceled and promoted Rugby-Club Auch to the rise in federal 1 for the 2020-2021 season!
