SHOW: TENDERNESS

What does it mean to be a man today in the #MeToo era? With La Tendresse, Julie Berès offers a punchy, funny and profound show on the question of the masculine.

We are told the story of young men who build themselves and struggle with cultural heritage, the wishes of tradition and the sometimes contradictory injunctions of society. On the stage, eight performers, remarkable for their energy and sincerity, all from different backgrounds, address the audience. Stereotypes are exhibited the better to be dismantled. The language is crude and does not obliterate any theme: flirting, couples, consent, homosexuality, paternity.

This space of speech also leaves a lot of room for bodies: the artists dance hip-hop there as if their lives were at stake and deliver a real journey from the intimate to the political, far from any preconceived discourse.

We come out of there full of confidence in youth, in our intimate changes, in the future quite simply.
