________

Originally from the southwest of France, Julie Bonnafous discovered glasswork in Ireland, it was a trigger event.

On his return, we will follow various internships and the integration of the École des Métiers d'Art in Arras in the north of the country.

She will follow a three-year training course in the stained glass section.

After obtaining her University Diploma in Arts and Crafts (DUMA), she worked for two years in the studio of Toulouse master glassmaker, Jean Dominique Fleury, designer and restorer of old and contemporary stained glass windows.

Thereafter, she continued her training in Quebec, for a whole year, in order to learn new work techniques.

Back in France, Atelier Julie Bonnafous was founded in December 2011.

After a first year spent in Toulouse, the Atelier will settle for five years in the city of art of Martres-Tolosane then move to Auch.

The work of a glass craftsman has mainly two orientations, the creation and the restoration of stained glass, for this, the Workshop works as well in collaboration with individuals, associations or public institutions.

The company carries out complex works of realization and restoration of stained glass windows, according to the traditional techniques, the know-how and the rules of the art of master glassmaker.

During the work, it is a point of honor to:
-respect the original project and the constraints of the architecture during our achievements
-respect the ethics specific to restoration (respect for the work in its general aesthetics, its historical evolution and its integration into the architecture)
- ensure the reversibility and documentation of interventions
- present works in progress or restoration in the workshop to public or private officials
- secure the entrusted works against fire and theft.
