In the town hall of Auch, the Salle des Illustres now hosts weddings and municipal councils.
Formerly, the hall was a music room. It was in 1866 that it was transformed. The project of the prefect Féart, wishing to create a room in honor of the great Gascon characters, was then taken up by the City of Auch.
In 1888, the said hall had suffered a fire. This Elusate (Editor's note: name given to a resident of Eauze), was born in 1816 and died in 1861. Poetess, she was thefriend of Lamartine. On three occasions she was awarded at the Floral Games in Toulouse (Académie Gaston Phébus) a major poetry competition at the time. She was the daughter of Jacques Donatien de Mibielle-Dubernier, mayor of Eauze.
