Sylvain's favorite: The walkway in the village of Montaut-lesCréneaux, a small medieval castle.
From Auch, follow the direction of Agen and at the Papillon restaurant, turn right onto the D272 towards Montaut-les-Créneaux: Pretty village with the gate tower and hidden gardens, starting point for hikes.
On leaving the village you meander through the Gers hillsides until you take the D175 towards Nougaroulet.
Point of view on the countryside and on a clear day, on the chain of the Pyrenees. The D175 takes you to Augnax.
At the next crossroads, turn left towards Crastes, a village with a steeple wall. Notice the small Romanesque chapel of St Joseph at the entrance to the village.
Continue on the D172 to the village of Mirepoix where the castle of Reveillon (private) dominates the few vines.
This village is also a starting point for a hike with the possibility of joining the Tourrenquets loop, a neighboring village.
Cross the N21 and head south towards Peyrusse Massas and Roquelaure where a stop at the producers is a must! Continuing on the D148 you discover Castin, a flowery village, and its viaduct, a work of railway art, built in 1900.
