The promenade des berges du Gers (baptized Promenade Claude Desbons, named after the mayor who worked on their creation in 2000) offers you a pleasant and peaceful journey along the Gers river.
4 km long (8 km round trip), you can cover it on foot, by bike, on rollerblades, on a walk with your pet ... and discover the flora and fauna of the banks of the Gers .
The Gers begins its Auscitan journey from the south, in a rural environment, then the river turns slightly in the heart of a semi-urban space.
After crossing the footbridge, you will see the old town, which you can reach by taking the pousterles and the small sloping streets.
As you continue along the promenade, you can admire the Monumental Staircase, the Tour d'Armagnac, the Sainte-Marie d'Auch cathedral which are reflected in the Gers.
You will then pass under the Treille bridge, the oldest bridge in Auch, to reach the CIRCa pole then the Couloumé park.
The Claude Desbons walk ends in the shopping area of Endoumingue.
Since 2018, the pleasure of strolling along the Gers can continue ... The Michel Combe promenade extends to the village of Preignan. The trail of approximately 7 kilometers is redeveloped and accessible to mountain bikes.
