Maxime REY is one of the few breeders in France of woolly pigs, or Mangalica, a Hungarian endemic breed, in Roquefort between Auch and Lavardens. He sells the delicacies from his breeding (ham, coppa, chorizo, lomo, ventrêche, etc.) on a short circuit.
The long breeding and maturing time gives his cured meats and meats an exceptional taste and makes them a high-end production. In 2025, no shop on the farm for Maxime, but it should see the light of day in 2026 alongside spaces reserved for events and the discovery of his breeding. In the meantime, Maxime or Mathilde his wife, share with you their attachment to woolly pigs and their work on trade fairs, fairs and markets. Lou du Rey du Mouchon's products are on sale all year round at the shop "Au Petit Marché de Mathilde et Bernard" in Auch (35 avenue Pierre de Montesquiou).
Maxime also uses the fat from his pigs, lard, in very gentle soaps with monoi or mojito flavors.
No reception at the farm to date, or simply by appointment. An open house in 2025: follow the news on www.bienvenue-a-la-ferme.com/gers to be informed.
