Discovering a region also means taking care of it. Your tourist office, and many businesses in the Gers, are committed to sustainable development initiatives. Here are a few easy eco-friendly actions you can take while on holiday during your stay in Auch and the Gers.
Before I leave for vacation
Before leaving, I can pack the following in my suitcase for a responsible trip:
- Reusable bags or tote bags for my shopping
- A reusable water bottle to avoid buying plastic bottles
To get here, I prefer to use sustainable modes of transport (train, bus, etc.). Discover Here's how to get to and around Auch once you're there..
On my place of stay

I am careful about my waste
- I continue to sort my waste
- I don't throw anything away in nature: I keep my waste with me until I find a bin or recycling container.
- If I come with my four-legged companion I pick up his droppings with a poop bag that I brought with me or that I found available free of charge in the city

I consume local
- I consume products from local agriculture and crafts: on the markets, by going to local shops or directly to the producers.
Check out our addresses farm sales, wine estates, craft breweries or the gourmet shops…). Many suggestions can also be found in the network Welcome to the Gers Farm.

I limit my water and energy consumption
Just like at home, a few simple habits make all the difference on my holiday destination:
- I turn off the lights when I leave a room and make the most of the daylight.
- I prefer a quick shower to a bath
- I turn down the heating at night and turn it off when I leave my home or when I open the windows to air it out.
- I turn off the water tap when I'm washing dishes or brushing my teeth.
- I don't leave devices on standby

I favor soft mobility
- I am moves at most on foot, by public transport, by carpooling or by Biking
- For my travels to BikingNumerous rental locations are available in the city of Auch: 10 self-service electric bike stations et Cyclomove

During my visits and my outdoor activities
On a walk, here lThe 9 essential actions of the Hiker's Charter

- 1. When hiking, I leave nothing behind;
- 2. With the flocks, I do not get too close;
- 3. Hiking well also means sharing the trail;
- 4. To be informed is already to protect;
- 5. The right path is the one we respect;
- 6. Go incognito to respect animals;
- 7. The spark is in the eyes, not in the fires;
- 8. The most beautiful treasure is the one we still admire;
- 9. In peace, nature reveals itself.
I respect the playground that nature has lent me!
