In Auch, the cinema is located in the city center, in a unique and historically significant location. Unusually, it is run by a non-profit organization and offers both mainstream and art-house films.
In Auch, Ciné32 opened its first screen in 1978. In 2012, the association created its cinema complex on the site of the former Espagne barracks. It now boasts 7 comfortable screens (940 seats). On-site, the CinéBistro is open every evening for drinks or meals featuring organic and local products.
Its eclectic programming caters to all audiences with:
- More than 400 films per year encompassing the full diversity of cinema: fiction, animated films and documentaries of all genres
- Regular in-theater events: Film-Meetings with filmmakers or speakers, Retro Films, the Enchanted Screens program for younger audiences, the Opera-Cinema season, Film-Concerts, etc.
- Open-air cinema screenings are offered throughout the Gers region during the summer
- Ciné32 is an "art and essay" cinema with three labels: "Young Audience", "Research and Discovery", and "Heritage and Repertory".
In addition to running the cinema, the Ciné32 association carries out various missions:
- Hosting film shoots and supporting production projects
- Activities for young people, schoolchildren, apprentices and students
- the coordination of the 14 other cinemas in Gers
- the organization of the Ciné32 Festival "Independence(s) and Creation", initiated with Daniel Toscan du Plantier in 1998. It takes place every year at the beginning of October.
The plus: the rooms are equipped with magnetic loops for the hearing impaired and are accessible to people with reduced mobility.
