Nougaroulet Village

This small village, whose name comes from “Nogarolet” (small walnut tree), is built on an old mound.

Of the castle, which disappeared before the 1624th century, there remain a few remains (walls, windows, etc.) included in dwellings rebuilt in the XNUMXth century. The fortifications were destroyed in XNUMX on the orders of Richelieu, at the same time as those of many other fortified towns. But if the buildings have disappeared, the site remains, on a spur with a succession of shaded terraced walks that mark the different levels of the old enclosure.

To discover in Nougaroulet:
- XNUMXth century church
- Sundial from 1750
- XNUMXth century church (restored) of La Boubée and Coignax
- Fountain of Devotion St John the Baptist near the church
- Remains of the castle, fortified house absorbed by an XNUMXth century construction
- Mill
- Dovecotes
