PREFECTURE OF GERS

This beautiful 18th century architectural ensemble, clinging to the hill and overlooking the Gers, adjoins the Sainte Marie Cathedral. Before housing the representative of the State and the prefectural services, this magnificent building was the palace of the Archbishops of Auch. The elegant facade is decorated with Corinthian pilasters. Inside, among the prestigious elements, the famous “Boulle” desk, listed furniture and Aubusson tapestries. In the terraced gardens, a few pear trees producing the famous Auch pear.
