In the XNUMXth-XNUMXth centuries, the habitat was grouped together in the form of castelnaux, on high sites, such as Castelnau-Barbarens, a town formed around the castle (now disappeared) of the counts of Astarac. Discover through the pousterles, the vestiges of the medieval era, the houses with traditional materials and the picturesque embans where the craftsmen kept shop, as well as the Sainte-Quitterie church and the Notre-Dame-de-Pitié chapel.
