Montégut

Panorama sur Montégut

Montégut

Montégut is a pretty medieval castelnau perched on a rocky promontory. It culminates at 243 metres of altitude at "Tour des Fées", where an old mill stands. On one end of the village is the hamlet of Roquetaillade. The castle, a private monument closed to the public, overlooks the village.

Don't miss, in Montégut

  • The 13th-century castle, reworked in the 19th century, consisting of a rectangular building with two square towers and long terraces with balusters;
  • a dovecote;
  • a church with listed features;
  • Roquetaillade chapel;
  • "Tour des Fées";
  • an old mill.
  • The Saint James' Way crosses through the village (Arles road).
