he village of Lahitte is overlooked by a defensive tower which became the bell tower of the 18th-century church . There were once two fortified areas: the principal church, built in the late 10th century, including the church and its bell tower, are the remains of one; while the tower called "Tour du Roi", now entirely destroyed, was the other. Here, Louis XIII received loyalty tributes from the lords of the surrounding areas.
