Sassafras Spring Festival

The Sassafras company wants to continue promoting amateur theatre in its town of Auch and is back with the 2nd edition of its festival!

The aim is to give amateur theatre its place in the local cultural landscape. But also to make the town of Auch an essential place for this theatre!
In addition to the plays, this festival will include meetings between audiences, actors and directors, thus offering a valuable opportunity to exchange and share experiences.

In the programme :

• Friday
14:30 p.m.: Open stage
The Salinis College Theater Workshop under the direction of Célia Domenech and the Pardailhan High School Theater Option under the direction of Agnès Espaignet-Le-Targa.

20:30 p.m.: “Emois” by Remi De Vos by the Cie de 9 à 11 (31) – 1h25 – All audiences
In a waiting room, a man and a woman wait. Waiting generates boredom, embarrassment. So they will escape, take refuge in their thoughts, remember their adolescence... One remembers a tyrannical father, a submissive and depressive mother and a young boy, the other evokes the forbidden evenings at the village ball, the sexy outfits, the boys' gaze, the sports cars...
A text which addresses, without concession and with humor, the violence of first times, the birth of desire... the first emotions.

• SATURDAY
14:30 p.m.: "Family photo" inspired by several texts by the Cie Les pieds dans l'eau (64) - 1 hour 30 minutes - From 12 years old
A mother, a father, two teenagers and a grandfather live together... The mother exhausts herself trying to be a "good mother", the son confuses video games with reality, the daughter dreams of an ideal slimness, the father only thinks about taking refuge in his work, the grandfather grumbles... and will reveal a secret... the roots of this family will burst into the open and perhaps offer a chance to its members to come back together...

16 p.m.: Meeting and debate with theater authors Philippe Yvelin and Thierry Chaumillon, hosted by José-Bernard Cassagne.

17 p.m.: “My friend Roger” by Philippe Avron by Le théâtre de l'Enclin (49) - 55 mins - All audiences
On their boat of life, since childhood, Philippe and Roger will lose sight of each other, find each other again, laugh, cry, and take with them the important characters of their existence: a schoolteacher, a philosophy teacher, a drama teacher, Don Juan, Devos, Shakespeare. One is an anarchist and will become depressed, the other is Cartesian and will save his friend from anguish. We all have something of Roger in us!

20:30 p.m.: “Perceptions” Collective creation by the Cie La Sauce Théâtre (33) - 1h30 - All audiences
The perceptions and views that each of us have on others and on the world are multiple and enriching, each thing can take on a new light, if we dare to see it differently… We will observe with tenderness and attention humorous and moving scenes of life. We will learn the truth about Santa Claus, we will rediscover the alphabet in a surprising light, we will travel to Quebec and dance on love, we will meet Mickey and Michelangelo, we will take a crazy guitar lesson, we will learn a little more about the intimacy of a policeman…
A funny, lively, colorful and poetic show, which offers another vision of relationships, pleasure, love, friendship, laughter, others... and ultimately everything that surrounds us.

• Sunday
14:30 p.m.: “Slices of sea bass” by JM Gourio, J. Deschamps, M. Makeieff by the Cie Les Zalambiqués (32) - 1 hour 15 minutes - All audiences
The action takes place in a bar. It is an assembly made from the "Brèves de comptoir" and the sketches of the Deschiens.

17 p.m.: “Ouasmok” by Sylvain Levey by the Cie Chronique (33) – 50 minutes – Ages 8 and up
This is the story of Mr. Pierre and Miss Léa. Not all boys and girls their age are like them. And for good reason: getting to know each other in just a few days, meeting someone, triggering the seduction phase, creating a wedding ceremony, having a first child and a divorce... This is not common, unless it is all just a dream or a cruel and light game? Who knows?
